'Kuldeep Bishnoi – An Introduction'
Ch. Kuldeep Bishnoi, son of Ch. Bhajan Lal, former Chief Minister of Haryana, has progressed through various phases to become a successful person in all walks of life.
Kuldeep apart from being a popular politician, is also a family man. Happily married and blessed with two sons and a daughter Kuldeep manages to spend quality time with his family in spite of his hectic political life. He likes to keep his family and friends circle private. He enjoys his time with his family within tranquility of his home, and likes to be with his children, supporting them in various aspects of their formative years.
A religious person, Kuldeep believes in the oneness of God and is equally respectful of all religious values. Bishnoi interacts with people from all walks of life and celebrates all festivals with them. He visits religious places and believes in the equality of all faiths.
The Bishnois are worshipers of nature. One of the twenty nine principals followed by them is "JEEV DAYA PALNI, RUNKH LILA NAHI GHAVE”. This means protect trees and wild animals. And a Bishnoi, Kuldeep is naturally inclined towards environmental issues.
Although Kuldeep started taking interest in politics from a very young age, he started his active political career in 1987, campaigning for his mother. Kuldeep contested his first assembly election in the year 1998 and became an MLA. First time in the electoral history a bye-election was won by an opposition party leader. Kuldeep emerged from his father’s shadow and won the toughest by-election in the history of Haryana. The state assembly seat was won for the first time by an opposition candidate.
Born in an active political family, Kuldeep is a Member of Parliament from Bhiwani, Haryana and won his first Lok Sabha election from this constituency. It was an extraordinary achievement as it was for the first time in 15 years that a Congress party candidate won this seat.
Kuldeep inherited the political qualities from his father. He believe in the fair politics and possess the modern and progressive outlook for the betterment of the country . Kuldeep does not hesitate to sacrifice anything to oppose the injustice at any level and it was this habit that, inspired him to fight against his own party(congress) of that time ,after seeing the plights of common man and farmers . Whenever there is question of choice between his personal interest and the struggle for public welfare, he always go far the second option without any second thought. Kuldeep has proved himself again and again that his life is for the service of people.
It was year 2005 when Congress under the able leadership of his father Mr Bhajan Lal, got the unprecedented success by winning 67 assembly seats out of 80. At that time, at one end, there was a ministerial seat at centre for Kuldeep and the office of Governor of Haryana for his father, on the other end were the aspirations and trust of people of Haryana, with whom injustice was being done.
Kuldeep chose the later as the Congress Party was playing with people's trust. Each and every section in state was suffering under the hooda regime. Farmer’s cultivable land was being grabbed by the Government itself and which was selling it to private companies, robberies and crime were at their peak. In such tough situation Kuldeep found it more appropriate to voice the people's plight rather than sitting idle and watch the chaos calmly. And to fulfill the dreams of people of Haryana, on December 2, 2007 in the Rohtak, in the biggest political rally in history of India, with the blessings from his father'Haryana Congress (BL) was established. This was the common dais of struggle for public interest, which Kuldeep gave to the people of his state.
The journey of struggles for the cause of common man doesn't end here, but in the recently concluded assembly elections, when Haryana Congress (BL) won 6 assembly seats, Kuldeep again found himself in great dilemma. At one side he was being offered the post of Deputy Chief Minister which came with a condition of merger of his party with congress, on the other hand were those who believe in HJC (BL) as a catalyst for change, belief of those whose struggle for better Haryana was voiced by Keldeep & his party. Sidelining the pressure of other MLAs of his party Kuldeep chose the path of struggle for the cause of the people of Haryana. In the process, other legislators succumb to the desire of power and after being tempted by Congress left Kuldeep alone. This moment of crisis also couldn't overwhelm the trust of people in Kuldeep and kuldeep in his people . Now Kuldeep is working tirelessly, with enhanced confidence and enthusiasm to strengthen the roots of his party.
